After a day on the bus, a day on the river.

Rather marvellous breakfast – eggs cooked to order, potatoes, five different kinds of fruit, and other stuff I chose not to eat.

We left about 8:30am, in three smallish boats, stopping every 1.5 to 2 hours. At first it was cool and misty, and although it got really bright later, it wasn’t until we got off the boats that we realised just how hot it was.

We’ve never seen albino water buffalo before, but there were lots of them in Lao.

Remember the river weed of great deliciousness that I mentioned earlier? I think that is what is being collected here.
