As we toured around the foothills of the Himalayas, many of the places we visited were located at river confluences. They all had steps down to the river and temples of varying sizes. This confluence was at Deoprayag.
We walked through the town and went down to the river and were blessed (at a price).
Here’s the sound of the confluence at Rudraprayag where we stayed overnight in a Government run hotel.
A Govt run hotel means that the rooms are very basic, the service is slow, and, though the place is over-staffed, only one man works whilst the others stand around and watch. But the views were fantastic.
