Sight & Sound 10 – wedding procession

5 08 2008

Whilst in Rishikesh we had dinner at a little place near our hotel. More of a diner than a restaurant, it also incorporated one of those unclassifiable shops that sells an unpredictable range of goods.

A complex shop

The food there was excellent. My journal tells me that I had chana masala and jeera rice, and lots of masala chai. My journal has a better memory than I.

As we were finishing our meal we heard the sounds of an approaching wedding procession.

We quickly paid up and went out into the street to follow the procession. It was too dark for photographs, but I did grab another soundclip, complete with the noise of vehicles and a generator.
